Decide what the recipient should see first
For a small Valentine gift, the first view might be a decorated dessert, an ordered row of wrapped chocolates or a personal message. Choose that focal point before selecting a window or a full lid. A window can reveal the gift, but it also exposes uneven spacing, loose wrappers and labels placed across the display.
The small dessert box with a heart window provides a relevant starting format. Its window is a feature of the lid, not proof that every heart-shaped dessert will fit. Measure the actual product and its liner, then check what remains visible after the box is closed.
Allocate space to both the gift and the message
Map the note, gift card and ribbon alongside the contents. A card should be accessible without scraping frosting or dislodging a chocolate. Where food and a non-food gift share one presentation, retain appropriate individual packaging and allocate separate positions.
- Mark the visible face of each item in the layout.
- Leave a usable finger path for removing the first piece.
- Position the personal message where it can be read before food is handled.
- Choose a place for order identification that does not become the front of the gift.
Use color and finishing to support the brand
A Valentine range does not have to rely on one color combination. Compare a restrained ribbon presentation with a printed lid or an illustrated sleeve. Evaluate important artwork on the selected stock, especially where pale backgrounds, metallic effects or fine text are involved. List the requested finish rather than treating a digital rendering as an approved result.
Peach ribbon gift boxes offer another presentation reference. Confirm the final ribbon width, tying method and supplied lengths; the appearance of a bow depends on more than the box dimensions.
Plan personalization before the packing rush
If customers can add a message, define a text limit, proofreading step and matching method between the message and the packed order. Keep the personalization field separate from fixed product labels. Review a complete sample with a realistic message so that long names and line breaks are visible.
For a Qixi campaign, adapt the message and receiving date to that specific occasion instead of assuming the February campaign can be reused unchanged. The gift packaging design guide explains how to fix the contents plan before preparing artwork.
