For a round board, compare the full diameter with the assembled internal diameter. For a rectangular board, record width and depth separately.
A practical fit check
A 200 mm board does not automatically fit a box sold as an 8-inch format. Treat that label as a shortlist, then compare the actual internal drawing.
Compare the available formats
| Format | When to compare it | Key checks |
|---|---|---|
| Clear Cake Boxes | Clear-panel cake packaging suits designs where the side view matters. Review the frame, base, panel joints and lid clearance together; the transparent wall does not define load capacity. | Board corners, Frame width, Panel and lid fit |
| Round Cake Boxes | Round cake boxes include paper-wall presentations and clear display formats. Compare the internal diameter, base support and way the cake board is removed. | Board diameter, Usable height, Lid and wall removal |
| Cake Boxes with Handles | Integrated handles can support bakery pickup, but the handle folds, base locks and headroom must work as one structure. Compare the assembled format with your loaded cake board. | Handle folds, Top clearance, Loaded base |
When to consider another structure
Individual slices and mixed pastries need portion layouts rather than a whole-cake board. Compare dessert packaging.
