Choose between a table gift and individual portions

A gift brought to a host's table may contain a whole bakery item, while a workplace thank-you order may need individually packed portions. Define the handover before choosing the box. The first needs an obvious way to lift out and serve the gift; the second needs repeatable portion identification and a practical distribution arrangement.

For a whole dessert, measure the finished tray or board rather than the food alone. Include the outer rim, handles where present and the highest decoration. A round paper cake box with a window lid is a starting structure to compare, subject to the actual footprint, usable height and agreed application.

Keep serving access visible in the layout

A broad tray can fit the base of a box while leaving no space for hands to lift it. Review the opening width and removal sequence with the actual filled tray. If the gift uses several small portions, map their positions and decide whether the tray will be removed as one unit or used for presenting the assortment.

Clear-cover pastry assortment boxes provide a reference for visible portions. Confirm the dividers, liners or individual wraps required for the specific food. Any storage, temperature or shelf-life requirement needs to be addressed by the appropriate food and packaging specifications, rather than inferred from the holiday theme.

Give a thank-you message its own space

For client or staff gifting, define where the company message and recipient information belong. A removable card can carry the greeting without committing the base box to one recipient or one year. Keep operational labels on an agreed outer face so that they do not become the main presentation when the gift is opened.

Separate a broad seasonal thank-you range from a destination-specific Thanksgiving campaign. Confirm the market and date in the brief; the same calendar assumption should not be applied to every country. Keep the intended receiving date distinct from the date the goods leave the supplier.

Review the last stage of delivery

Simulate the handover with the gift's carrier or outer shipping carton, its card and the planned arrangement. Observe whether a person can carry the package level and find the opening without turning it upside down. Document which components are supplied empty and which are added during packing.

The holiday planning worksheet brings together the receiving date, quantities and artwork versions. For a wider winter campaign, compare the separate Christmas packaging range and retain only the components that still fit the new contents.
