An open paper sleeve leaves part of the food accessible while providing a printed handling surface. Compare the sleeve opening and folded base with the finished item; a donut and a filled burger can require different widths even when their outside diameters look similar.

Choose the opening and closing method

Compare the opened bag or sleeve with the complete portion, allowing for folded corners and the way the customer holds it. Specify the food, contact time and any required barrier before choosing the paper. Agree whether the supply is a formed bag or flat wrapping sheet.

• Measure the item at its widest filled point.
• Check coverage where the customer holds it.
• Specify any barrier requirement for the actual food.
