PRINT & FINISH / 04

Let the surface tell the story.

Explore raised logos, recessed details and textured paper surfaces for boxes and bags. Choose the effect you want to feel, then review how it works with the paper, structure and printed design.

Illustrated finish effect. Confirm appearance on a physical sample.

Details that shape the final effect.

01

Raised, recessed or textured

Embossing raises a selected design; debossing presses it inward. An all-over textured paper or embossed pattern gives a different surface effect. Identify the intended result with a sample or a marked reference.

02

Select the paper for the effect

Surface texture, thickness and construction influence how the relief looks and feels. Review the actual paper and backing arrangement, especially on a folded carton or a wrapped gift box.

03

Place relief with the structure

Keep the design clear of critical folds and glued areas unless the construction has been reviewed for that placement. Consider the reverse side, inside lining and any nearby foil detail.

Choose where the effect belongs.

Design direction What to specify Sample review
Blind embossed logo Raised detail without added ink or foil Relief definition, paper surface and reverse appearance
Debossed detail Recessed name, border or symbol Depth reference and backing support
Textured paper or pattern A broader tactile surface Pattern scale, consistency and folding behaviour
Relief with foil Metallic and tactile detail combined Alignment, tooling and sample approval

Approve the effect on the actual material.

A digital preview helps place the design. Use a physical finishing reference to agree the surface appearance, then review the selected finish on the intended paper and assembled structure. Ask for project-specific compatibility, tooling and quantity details before confirming production.

A few useful answers

Can I request linen, leather-like or other paper textures?

Share a physical reference or a clear image of the intended pattern. The effect may come from a selected textured paper or a separate embossing process; confirm the material and method during review.

Can I choose a fixed embossing depth before selecting the paper?

Choose the visual and tactile target first. The achievable profile depends on the paper, tooling and construction, so agree the final effect through a sample on the selected material.
