Define the complete selling unit
A transparent cake-box set may include a base, wall, lid and ribbon. Identify every component and the number of sets in the retail unit before planning an outer carton. Single-set, two-set and five-set packs are examples; other arrangements can be discussed.
Plan assembly before shipping
Depending on the structure, preparation may include pre-folding walls, attaching ribbons or adding inserts and thank-you cards. Confirm which steps happen before shipment and which are completed by your staff or customer.
Specify labels clearly
Provide buyer-approved SKU, FNSKU, brand and warning-label files where required. Mark the location of each label on a packing illustration, including any barcode area that must remain clear. Label content and marketplace requirements should come from the buyer’s current instructions.
Check the outer package
Confirm the component protection, number of retail units per carton, carton markings and destination. Review the proposed pack with a sample so clear panels, printed surfaces and small accessories remain organized.
Send an export packing brief
Include the packaging reference, set contents, units per selling pack, expected quantity and delivery destination. Attach any relevant buyer packing guide and label artwork.
Build a packing specification
| Field | What the buyer should identify |
|---|---|
| Supplied unit | Parts in each packaging set and any separately packed accessories |
| Inner pack | Set count, protection between parts and identification |
| Outer carton | Pack count, agreed arrangement, labels and handling instructions |
| Destination | Delivery address and the agreed transport scope |
Record requirements in the downloadable packaging brief. For multi-size cake packaging, the bulk purchase matrix helps separate components and carton quantities. Confirm shipping terms and schedules for the agreed project.
